Dungeons & Dragons: Adventures in the Forgotten Realms includes 26 out of the 90 playable cards in Magic: The Gathering that produce or reference Treasure tokens. As such, Commander decks interested in creating Treasure or artifact tokens have new resources at their disposal.
My latest article, 5 Commander Cards Improved by Forgotten Realms, highlights five Commander cards receiving a booster in power and synergy from Forgotten Realms Treasure-related cards. One example is Revel in Riches, a black enchantment from Ixalan. Revel in Riches is an enchantment that wants you to amass ten or more treasures to win the game. Since Forgotten Realms contains multiple new black Treasure-producing creatures and spells, players may want to include Revel in Riches in more Commander decks. To find out what the other four powered up cards are, give the article a read! Fallen Empires and Homelands are two flavor-filled Magic: The Gathering sets released in the 1990s. Unfortunately, both sets were considered failures by Wizards of the Coast due to a handful of reasons. Fallen Empires became overprinted as an attempt to fix the scarcity of earlier expansions. Homelands had a low power level and limited use for many of its cards.
In my article, Selling Sealed Fallen Empires and Homelands, I explain how Fallen Empires and Homelands became failures. Also, I share my thoughts around the current pricing of Fallen Empires and Homelands sealed product. Should you buy sealed product from these sets or avoid it entirely? Check out the article to find out if Fallen Empires or Homeland is a worthwhile investment. Dungeons & Dragons: Adventures in the Forgotten Realms releases in paper form on July 23rd, 2021. As a replacement to the summer core set, Forgotten Realms includes unique mechanics such as dungeons and dice rolling. The introduction of new cards and mechanics from Forgotten Realms led to a number of cards spiking in sales and price.
In my article, Which Cards Spiked Because of Forgotten Realms, I highlight some of the notable card spikes caused by Forgotten Realms. Acererak the Archlich is already proving to be a potent addition to Aluren decks in Legacy. Spoilers for Gelantinous Cube and Ochre Jelly caused another Ooze card to spike. Check out the article to learn more about the aforementioned cards and other card spikes thanks to Forgotten Realms. I put together a comprehensive article covering all of the Standard set Collector Booster Displays released through Strixhaven: School of Mages. In Selling Sealed Standard Collector Booster Displays, I highlight the changes in Collector Booster content, price movements, and share insights into future appreciation potential.
My takeaway from writing the piece is newer Collector Booster display releases have peak pricing near the set’s launch. Following release, a Collector Booster display price decline occurs until the price hits a floor dictated by market demand and interest. If you are looking to buy a Collector Booster display of Dungeons & Dragons: Adventures in the Forgotten Realms, you may want to wait a bit after launch. This is a general statement as your local gaming store or other retail outlets may offer competitive pricing or special deals. |
