The Lord of the Rings: Tales of Middle-earth is one of Magic: The Gathering's most exciting set releases in 2023. The Lord of the Rings: Tales of Middle-earth enables players to include renowned characters, items, and locations in their Modern, Legacy, and Commander decks. The One Ring, Mount Doom, and Lotho, Corrupt Shirriff are already seeing play in a multitude of decks.
My recent TCGplayer Infinite article, Top 10 Most Expensive MTG Cards From LOTR: Tales of Middle-earth, covers the ten most expensive regular version cards from the set. Average market values for cards like Nazgul and Witch-king, Bringer of Ruin are quite surprising. Read the article to find out what other cards made the top ten list. The Lord of the Rings: Tales of Middle-earth is one of the most exciting MTG set releases in 2023. Iconic characters and lore from The Lord of the Rings are now found on MTG cards for players to enjoy. Since the LOTR set is legal in Modern, Legacy, and Commander; new cards are bound to have synergies with other playable cards in their respective formats.
As new cards got spoiled during the LOTR spoiler season, players quickly figured out interesting interactions and synergies. In particular, Commander received a new two-card combo and additional commander options for a handful of themes. As a result, prices jumped for a number of older MTG cards. My recent article, Which Cards Spiked Because of LOTR: Tales of Middle-earth, highlights a few Commander-legal cards that spiked in price due to LOTR. Find out which cards players are picking up for Commander decks by clicking the above article link. Magic: The Gathering's planeswalkers are a well-known card type first printed in Lorwyn. Since then, planewalker cards have been printed in a plethora of sets. Originally, planeswalker cards had three loyalty abilities with varying effects. Over time, planeswalker cards changed to include static abilities and up to four loyalty abilities.
In my recent TCGplayer Infinite article, 6 MTG Planeswalker Cards You Should Be Playing, I highlight six planeswalker cards worth consideration in the 99 of Commander decks. Recent sets contain a handful of planeswalkers with abilities that synergize well with certain Commander Deck strategies and themes. You should read the article to see if there is a planeswalker that could improve the power level of an existing or new Commander deck. |
