In the Magic: The Gathering card game, a reprint policy protects cards featured on a Reserved List from being printed again. Iconic cards like Tropical Island, Grim Monolith, and Time Vault are on the Reserved List.
Last year, a renewed interest in Reserved List cards caused prices to skyrocket. Players and investors began purchasing Reserved List cards driving prices to new highs. As a result, prices have climbed to a point where the average player cannot afford or would be unwilling to pay hundreds of dollars for one card. However, a handful of Reserved List cards have seen alternative options printed over time. Some of these alternative card choices are almost identical to their Reserved List counterpart. One example of this is Fork and Reverberate. In my latest article, Three Reserved List Cards with Affordable Alternatives, I highlight three Reserved List cards and their alternative options. Players can purchase some functional reprints for a fraction of the price of their Reserved List equivalent. This article is of particular interest to players looking to include Reserved List cards in decks but turned away from high prices. Comments are closed.
